SDC Welcomes Samantha Westby to the Customer Service Department

SDC Security Door Controls is proud to announce and welcome Samantha Westby to the Customer Service department. As a C.S. Representative Samantha will provide phone support to customers and be responsible for processing orders received by email, fax, or phone.

Previously Samantha worked for an electro-mechanical switch manufacturer and performed similar duties. She also held a C.S. position for the City of Ventura and has some marketing experience and customer service experience.

Samantha obtained an AS in Business Administration from Santa Barbara Business College earning high honors and received an Oustanding Student Award upon completion.

Completely concealed when the door is closed the PTM Electric Power Transfer Device is ideal for heavy traffic and applications requiring higher security to inhibit tampering and abuse.

As part of any electromechanical access control system or handicapped access, electrification of door hardware is required. Electrifying an exit device provides different options including controlling access, limiting access, and providing access and egress when used in conjunction with a power door operator.

There are two ways to electrically configure an exit device – electrifying the exterior trim and equipping an exit device with electric latch retraction (ELR). Each method has its advantages and can be used to operate rim mount, mortise, concealed vertical rod, surface vertical rod and Less Bottom Rod (LBR) exit devices.

The SDC LR100 Series Electric Latch Retraction Kit enables electric access control and dogging of mechanical exit devices. When energized the motor retracts the exit device latch and pulls the pushpad into the dogged (depressed) position enabling momentary or sustained push and pull operation of the door.

The latch retraction mechanism may be activated by an access control, remote control device or building automation system. The exit device always provides uninhibited egress.
