CORPORATE BACKGROUNDER
SECURITY DOOR CONTROLS, also known as SDC, designs, manufactures and markets mechanical door locks and exit devices, digital keypad and card access control systems and a variety of electric locking devices that may be incorporated as part of a system, or used together as a complete mechanical and electronic door access control system for commercial and industrial facilities. Many of the product designs are proprietary to SDC. Arthur V. Geringer, DAHC, with commitment of his personal funds, founded the company in 1972. Assembly of the majority of SDC products takes place in the United States and are sold worldwide. The few products that are manufactured overseas are also sold overseas to keep up with the competitive world marketplace.
SDC brand products are channeled through security products wholesale distributors, security systems integrators, contract hardware distributors, wholesale door hardware distributors. Additionally, SDC designs and manufactures products for several major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), who sell SDC products under their own label. Sales are conducted through 45 sales offices to support and service architects, engineering firms, security consultants and distributors.
